Nigerians are known for lavish weddings and couples are increasingly becoming very creative with their nuptials, but there were some that just broke all the records, being bigger and more glamorous than anything we've ever seen.
With that said, let's take you through our top 6 most expensive Nigerian celebrity weddings for 2014.
Tsola Emiko and Ivie Okunbo

  1. Tsola Emiko and Ivie Okunbo: This wedding left us all wishing for a fairytale wedding - a (real) prince and a damsel. Tsola Emiko, the son of the Olu of Warri married his ladylove, Ivie Okunbo, the daughter of billionaire businessman, Captain Hosa Okunbo, in a traditional marriage ceremony which play took place in Benin city, Edo state, on November 8, 2014. The extravagant wedding had monarchs, dignitaries, celebrities and political big wigs in attendance. At least 15 private jets were said to have been sent out to pick up wedding guests from different parts of the country. It was by far the most expensive celebrity wedding held in Nigeria this year. The white wedding was held at St Luke's Church in Chelsea, London, on November 15, 2014.
  2. Abdulazeez and Adejoke Adesoye: Lagos stood still on Saturday, October 25, 2014, when Abdulazeez, the son of popular businesswoman and diamonds merchant, Folashade Adunni Risiquat Adesoye, aka Shade Alesh, wed Adejoke, the daughter of an equally popular fabric merchant, Morufat Kalejaiye. The Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, never looked so good. The decor was simply breathtaking! This wedding literally "broke the internet" as celebrities and wedding guests went on social media to share photos from the ceremony. Some even posted photos of the centre pieces and cutlery! It was that grand. Prior to the wedding, the couple were just "regular" people, but the story has totally changed. That's why they are on this celebrity list.

Everybody who was anybody in the Nigerian music indusrty were there for the event which was totally unlike what we are used to. It was even held in the evening - totally "un-Nigerian". Guests were also treated to a yacht ride the day after. It was absolutely 'celebrity-ish'.
